About Maureen

As a theatre director, I have directed in London, New York City (off-Broadway), Chicago, Munich, Vienna and Bangalore, India and am a founding ensemble member of Chicago’s, award winning,The Gift Theatre: http://www.thegifttheatre.org

New plays are my passion. See WIN: Writers Innovative Network. I specialize in both workshopping and directing full-on produced readings of new work. I believe this part of the process is critical towards the fine tuning of potentially great work.

I am very keen as to collaborating with both emerging and established international playwrights who tackle, with both tremendous skill and dedication, challenging subject matter and powerful concepts. I currently both lead developmental workshops and direct readings internationally, in addition to directing.

Please visit SELECT WORK to view previous productions. I love leaning into the works of Caryl Churchill, Michael Frayn (helmed several productions of COPENHAGEN), Sarah Treem and many other playwrights. I applaud the mini series CHERNOBYL as one of the most brilliantly written and authentically detailed & directed mini series. I am a fan of Richard Feynman, Hermann Hesse, Toni Morrison, Paul Thomas-Andersen, Joanna Hogg, Stephen Daldry, Olivier Assayas, Jackson Gay and The Ferryman (the play) to name a tiny few. The film, Moonlight, was groundbreaking,

As a globally engaged director, I like to look to unconventional elements for inspiration. With each project, I strive to deliver truth, simplicity and strong design values.

Having worked with several talented and creative artists both nationally and internationally, every engagement has helped hone my skills. My craft demands compassion, collaboration and attention to detail. I seek to inspire individuals to explore their unique talents and to fully trust in themselves as individual artists.

Unique contributions as a Director include Global PerspectiveScientific Theater, and Vision.
